Know Your Opponent
September 11, 2008
Knowing your opponent in any competitive situation is key to your coming out the winner. This means research and more research. Wait to draw conclusions and finishing your talking points until you have gathered all the material you can on the subject only then summarizing with the emphasis on your pros and their cons.
If you are up against someone bigger and stronger do not retreat and do not assume. It is important that you are better educated than your audience on the subject and you are prepared to answer and with conviction your point of view for every possible question.
Having a coach or consultant on your team will always give you a competitive edge and be beneficial in practice and preparation.
